This particular Kavalan is very interesting with its name especially to a musician like me. Though I’d prefer a classic single malt bottle of Kavalan. Port casks are a merit when they are used, but the wine inside the cask is very important too. Even though in IWSC 2011, this won the ‘Best Of Class’ award, I guess the main reason is the success of King Car.
Starting with the nose you are expecting something big, though it is mostly closed even if you swirl it a lot. The taste is OK, like a port. It has a cheap regular finish. Definitely not worth the price.
