Nose: 67 ppm (parts per million) peat shows itself on the nose. After aeration vanilla, oak, orange and lychee notes are expressed. Even though peat is powerful, it is real fun to observe the harmony it has with other aromas.
Palate: Blood orange is dominant when we talk about the palate. Grassy notes with smoke and liquorice are also existent with a delicate presentation. Right amount of peat, joy to feel it. And chewing it through the mouth. That’s great!
Finish: Long and warm. Peat Smoke is great at this very point. You first feel the fruity trace at the very back. Almost at the very last seconds toasted oak and smoke notes get intense.

Peaty Speyside is becoming more popular everyday. After Glenlivet Nadurra and some other expressions of other whiskies, I guess we have to expect more of them. Some of those whiskies have started to come to Turkey and one of them is Benromach Peat Smoke.

By giving the morning with the name, “Peat Smoke” has a peat amount of 67 ppm. We tasted it on one of the Whisky Or Whisey? classes. The very first smell gives you the suggestion that it is gonna be a looong and peaaty one. However, after some air, orange and exotic fruits appears and takes your brain out. On the palate blood orange, grapefruit zest and peat are successfully put together. This harmony is just one of the reasons why I loved this whisky.

The finish is pleasent, warm adn long. Just the thing we need for the snowy İstanbul on this January day.
